Spring Information Guide

 

Monthly Tuition Costs

- Visit our tuition page on our website for details on tuition costs. Tumbling classes not included in family discount rates. 

- Fees will be posted on the 1st of each month. If payment is not made by the 15th, you will be charged a $10 late fee and your dancer will need to sit out of class. Contact Madeline about auto pay. 

- No refunds will be given because of Covid-related closures.

- Students/parents need to let Madeline know if they plan to quit dance. The account will continue to be charged until they officially let Madeline know.


 

Spring Additional Costs & Due Dates

Practice clothing

 Amount will depend on what you need (tights, clothing, shoes, etc.). Clothing requirements listed in class descriptions. 

 

Hair & Makeup (Recitals)

 Cost varies between $15-$30. Hair requirements will be posted when we get closer to recital. Makeup requirements are in the following video: https://youtu.be/kDo43W1RXX4 

 

Spring Recital Costume

Costumes will cost between $55-$70. Costume fee due by March 15th. Fee will be posted to your parent portal.  *TUMBLING: our tumbling classes will have a reduced fee for costumes.

  

Recital Admission

 Admission to each recital costs $5 per ticket plus taxes & fees. Parents can get a free ticket by volunteering at a show. Tickets for the recital can be purchased online or at the door. Tickets purchased at Tututix.com. Ticket sales open online two weeks prior to the recital.

 

Recital video

Recital videos are optional and cost $25 per Flashdrive. 

 

Recital Flowers

Recital flowers are optional and cost between $5-$10. 


 

Spring Session - Important Dates:

Fall session runs February 7th-May 21st

Picture Day - Sunday, April 10th 

Spring recital rehearsal - Friday, May 20th 

Spring recital - Saturday, May 21st

Even though there isn’t school in session, dance IS in session at the WR studio. 

THERE WILL BE NO CLASS ON THE FOLLOWING DAYS: 

East Central & Hinckley: February 21st 

Easter break: April 18th-21st

Spring break @ EC & Hinckley: March 28th-29th

Class Descriptions

*Intro to Tumbling*

Offered to ages 2-6. This class focuses on basic tumbling skills such as forward and back rolls and cartwheels. No shoes required. Students will learn a routine in April/May to perform at the spring recital. Class attire: comfortable clothing.

*Tumbling 1* 

Offered to any age. This class is offered to dancers who have mastered a cartwheel, bridge, summersault, and back rolls and are now working on backbends, standing up from a bridge, front walkovers and back walkovers. No shoes required. Students will learn a routine in April/May to perform at the spring recital.Class attire: comfortable clothing.  

*Tumbling 2*

Offered to any age. This class is offered to dancers who have mastered summersaults, back rolls, cartwheels, bridge, backbend, standing up from a bridge, front walkover and back walkovers and are now working on cleaning their skills and learning more advanced skills such as handsprings, aerials, and tucks. Students will learn a routine in April/May to perform at the spring recital.No shoes required. Class attire: comfortable clothing.

*Super Mini*

Offered to ages 2 & 3. This class focuses on creative movement. Dancers are introduced to a structured setting and will learn how to use their imagination, how to work in a group, basic locomotor movements, rhythm, directions, dance steps, and beat and time. Black jazz shoes required for class. Required class attire - dance tights, tight fitting shorts, tight fitting shirt, leotard or leotard dress. 

*Mini Ballet*

Offered to ages 4-6. This class focuses on creative movement, imagination, posture, flexibility, and rhythm. Dancers will learn beginner ballet dance steps and work on mastering basic dance skills. Pink ballet shoes required for class. Required class attire - dance tights, tight fitting shorts, tight fitting shirt, leotard or leotard dress. 

*Mini Jazz*

Offered to ages 4-6. This upbeat and high energy class focuses on creative movement, imagination, coordination, musicality, flexibility, and stage performance skills. Dancers will learn basic jazz technique including leaps and turns. Black jazz shoes required for class. Required class attire - dance tights, tight fitting shorts, tight fitting shirt, leotard or leotard dress. 

*Mini Combo*

Offered to ages 4-6. This class focuses on creative movement, imagination, posture, flexibility, coordination, musicality, stage performance skills, and rhythmDancers will learn basic jazz technique including leaps and turns and will learn beginner ballet dance steps and will work on mastering basic dance skills. Black jazz shoes required for class. Required class attire - dance tights, tight fitting shorts, tight fitting shirt, leotard or leotard dress. 

*Mini Hip Hop*

Offered to ages 4-6. This fun class focuses on creative movement, imagination, coordination, musicality, flexibility, and stage performance skills. Dancers will learn basic hip hop technique. Sequin high tops required for class. Required class attire - comfortable clothing to dance in.

*Beginner Ballet*

This class is a beginning ballet class designed to teach children the foundations of ballet technique and form. 

Class dress code:

Girls: sleeveless leotard (one color), pink tights, and pink ballet shoes

Boys: white short sleeve t-shirt, loose black leggings, and black ballet shoes

*Junior Jazz*

Offered to ages 6-8. This upbeat and high energy class focuses on coordination, musicality, strength, flexibility, stage performance skills, muscle control, and fundamental technique. Black jazz shoes required for class. Required class attire - dance tights, tight fitting shorts, tight fitting shirt or leotard.  

*Junior Hip Hop* 

Offered to ages 6-8. This sassy and fun class focuses on musicality, rhythm and timing, strength, flexibility, stage performance skills, musical control, and hip hop technique. Sequin high tops required for class (purchase with instructor). Required dance attire - Comfortable clothing to dance in. 

*Junior Lyrical* 

Offered to ages 6-8. This class focuses on body awareness, strength, flexibility, basic ballet skills, stage performance skills, muscle control, and posture. Nude canvas half ballet shoes required for class. Required dance attire - Dance tights, leotard, and spandex/ballet skirt.  

*Pre Teen Jazz*

Offered to ages 9-18. This class incorporates jazz, ballet, lyrical, and hip hop. Dancers will learn stage performance skills, posture skills, muscle control, dance technique, discipline, and coordination. Black jazz shoes required for class. Required class attire - comfortable clothing to dance in. 

*Sparkle Queens*

This class is for our junior competition team which was chosen in July. Registration for this class is closed. If you are interested in competition, email Madeline or wait for auditions in June 2022. 

*Glitter Girls*

This class is for our mini competition dancers. Competition teams were chosen in July and registration is currently closed. If you are interested in competition, email Madeline or wait for auditions in June 2022.

 

*Power Squad* 

This class is for our pre teen competition dancers. Competition teams were chosen in July and registration is currently closed. If you are interested in competition, email Madeline or wait for auditions in June 2022.

Covid-19 Guidelines

Classes in the schools will follow school covid policies. 

Please review the following guidelines with your dancer before the first day of class.

 

Dancer Mask Protocol:

Unvaccinated dancers and anyone entering the studio are required to wear a mask. Mini dancers do not need to wear a mask during class. 

Symptom Check Protocol:

Please conduct a symptom check before arriving for class. If your dancer is feeling sick, do not send them to class.
